Dot IT Domains

Introduced in 1987, Italy’s dot IT country-code domain extension is very popular both within the country and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for building creative and appealing domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to construct an easy-to-learn domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to go back to your website or to give it with coworkers and fellows. The TLD can also be used for a website, which is linked to the technology sector having in mind the fact that IT is an abbreviation, which is used all over the world.

In view of the fact that dot IT domains are not sold directly by IT-NIC, the Registry organization that administers this top-level extension, such a domain can be registered through a 3rd-party company, such as ours. We will handle the registration process for you and take care of submitting your application to the Registry. You can register a .IT domain for no more than 1 year at a time, and the domains are transferable, so you can move your existing domain over to our firm and we will renew it after the transfer has been done. The sole limitation is that the person ordering such a domain needs to be located in a country from the EU.

Because there are existing Second-Level Domains that include names of various territories and localities in Italy reserved for local third-level registrations, new names that consist of geographical areas of any kind are not allowed on any level to avoid any future confusion. We do not offer such 3rd-level domains, though, because they can be registered only by locals.
